Family Evaluation
for Immigration Cases

Our practice in Virginia Beach also specializes in family evaluations for individuals seeking legal status in the United States. These are family evaluations, not psychological evaluations. Our assessments are grounded in Natural Systems Theory (Bowen & Kerr) and take a systemic view of each client’s experience. Rather than assessing an individual in isolation, our process explores:

-
Your client’s current functioning within their family system
-
The ways in which the legalization process impacts both your client and their family relationships
-
How immigration-related stressors affect your client’s emotional, relational, and overall psychosocial functioning
Each evaluation includes a comprehensive clinical interview with your client and his family resulting in a detailed report that highlights both the challenges and adaptive strengths of your client within their family context. This systemic perspective not only strengthens immigration documentation but also helps attorneys gain a fuller understanding of how the legal process affects their clients’ relational and emotional well-being.
